The 1st of December, World AIDS Day, is the day when people and organisations from around the world come together to bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day.

AIDS is the most globalised epidemic in human history. But AIDS is far more than a health crisis. For many years HIV/AIDS was viewed as simply a medical and health problem. In reality the virus is also profoundly influenced by other social, economic and political factors.

Finnish Medical Students’ International Committee asked us to support the campaign. Together, we decided to create a website to give information for secondary school pupils about AIDS and its socio-economic impact in Sub-Saharan Africa.
